| A Universal Prayer
I pray for:
My loved ones, parents, relatives, friends. The people with whom I work.
Those who pray for me, and ask my prayers.
The afflicted, sorrowful, sad, lonesome people in
life--whether known or unknown to me.
 Those who misunderstand my motives.
Those who in all sincerity oppose me.
Those who do not like me.
The souls of the faithful departed.
My loved ones in purgatory, so easily forgotten.

For Peace:In my own heart, in my home, in the world, and in
 the Church.

For the Reign of Christ in the Hearts of All PeopleThat people everywhere will come to know, love
and serve Christ, to see Him as their redeemer,
 their Lord and God.
That they will accept His teachings and seek to live
ever in the state of grace.

For the Conversion of SinnersThat those touched by God's grace will respond
and repent and come to know the joy of a heart
 at peace with God.

For Christian Unity"That all may be one," in fulfillment of the prayer of
 Christ at the Last Supper.

For Social JusticeThat all in the spirit of Christ will be brothers and
sisters in Christ, so that racial discrimination
 disappears.
That all will help the poor, the suffering, the downtrodden.
That law and order will be observed.
That crime and immorality will be lessened.

For the Church UniversalThat God may bless, guide and strengthen the Pope
 in his labors.
That bishops, priests and religious sisters and brothers
everywhere, may give their lives for Christ
totally, prayerfully, unreservedly and with a
 spirit of sacrifice.

For VocationsThat many may heed our Lord's invitation: "Come,
 follow me."
That those called to become religious respond to
 and persevere in their vocations.
